Broadcast Music v. Pandora Media

NEW YORK, NY – After a three-week bench trial U.S. District Court Judge Louis L. Stanton ordered Pandora to pay BMI a 2.5% royalty rate. Pandora had argued that it was entitled to pay a lower rate of 1.7% based on its purchase of a South Dakota radio station.
