Lei is a scientific illustrator and animator specializing in 3D software-based design and visual storytelling. She is passionate about helping professionals simplify and beautify complex technical content, making it more accessible and engaging for their target audiences.
Lei holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before joining Impact, she served as a science multimedia producer at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University and as the media director for BioSpark Group.
Deeply curious about design and innovation, Lei has a growing interest in user experience (UX) design and is actively exploring AI-powered graphic tools. She values the continuous evolution of creative software, which has enabled her journey into multimedia. While she embraces new technologies like AI, her ultimate focus remains on serving the needs and expectations of human audiences.
Outside of work, Lei enjoys caring for her plants and dreams of painting fairies in gardens and forests using watercolor.
