On October 15, 2003, Staten Island Ferry vessel Andrew J. Barberi crashed into the St. George Ferry Terminal pier, tragically killing 11 people and injuring 165. One of the critical elements of the ensuing legal case was, of course, determining the underlying cause of the crash.
The goal of our client’s case was to convince the jury that the accident was not an “act of God” but instead the result of crew recklessness. This demonstrative compares where the crew should have been versus where they were in the moments leading up to and at the time of the deadly accident.
