Radiohead Sues Lana Del Rey

INSIGHT

In January 2018, Radiohead sued Lana Del Rey over similarities between her song “Get Free” and their 1992 hit single “Creep”.

IMPACT

The case was eventually settled, but things became interesting when it was quickly recognized that The Hollies once sued Radiohead for taking elements from their 1974 song “The Air That I Breathe.” Without advocating on anyone’s behalf, we’ve taken sections of the song that were available to us and used one of the many techniques we have used in the past that makes seeing what you hear more accessible to a jury. The similarities and differences are apparent; here they are, boiled down to the notes.
